Our Retaining Wall Process

Assess Slope & Soil

We evaluate the grade, soil type, and water flow to determine wall height, material, and drainage needs.

Excavate Base

We dig the base course trench below grade and compact a gravel footing. A solid base is what keeps a wall from shifting.

Build the Wall

We set each course level, step back properly, and install drainage gravel and pipe behind the wall as we go.

Backfill & Finish

We compact backfill in lifts, cap the wall, and grade the surface above so water drains away from the wall face.

What materials do you use for retaining walls?

We build with concrete block (Allan Block style) and treated timber depending on the height, load, and your preference. We'll recommend the right material for your specific wall on the site visit.

How tall can the wall be?

For residential walls under four feet, we handle the full build. Taller walls may require engineering depending on your situation — we'll tell you honestly what's needed.

Do you install drainage behind the wall?

Yes, always. A retaining wall without drainage behind it will fail over time. We install gravel backfill and perforated pipe on every wall we build.

Do you handle the grading above and below the wall?

Yes. We grade the area above the wall so water drains away from it, and grade below the wall so the base is stable and drains properly.
